Aside from what I consider givens (dogs, coffee, the Apollo missions), I have two favorite things: I love meeting people. I love hearing about their lives, where they come from, what they do, what they love doing, and how they think and feel.
And I love traveling: I love wandering around new places and taking them in with all my senses. I love learning about cultures other than my own. I love going to modern art museums, tasting local beer, and getting out of the city for the day. I love waking up every morning ready to be surprised.
Wonderfully, I’ve made a career out of photographing my favorite things. It brings me joy to take others with me, virtually, as I meet new people and experience new places. When I travel, my goal is not to just take pretty pictures, but to communicate how a place feels. I delight in capturing real moments—allowing life to be exactly as it is—so that those moments still feel alive later, even in 2-D. In short, I love photographing the world as I find it, and I love showing you what I’ve found.
I’ve been a professional photographer for 15 years. I live in Charleston, SC, but I feel just as much at home when I’m traveling. You can contact me at email@example.com.
