Although “spoiled” is a word you hope to associate with food as infrequently as possible, it’s the word I use over and over to describe the way the culinary scene in Charleston makes me feel. Spoiled. Ruined! While I cringe at the idea I’ve become a food snob, I can’t deny that when I travel—even to other cities known for their cuisine—it’s hard for me to find food experiences that rival what I experience here at home. I feel incredibly lucky that photographing this magic is a huge part of my job. Even more than shooting the dishes themselves, I love capturing the folks behind the food—the geniuses who make this city taste so delicious.
